Sustainability

Environmental Commitment

Not just words
on a label

Every sustainability claim Antipodes make is independantly verified. Here's the evidence, the certifying bodies, the programs, the partners and the proof.

Antipodes Certfied Sustainable
The Milestone

Australia's first Certified Sustainable distillery.

In 2023, Antipodes Gin Company received Certified Sustainable status the first distillery in Australia to achieve this recognition. This certification, conducted by Certified Sustainable (certifiedsustainable.org.au), independently validates sustainable practices across every aspect of the business.

This isn't a self-assessed badge. It requires a rigorous external audit of production methods, ingredient sourcing, energy use, packaging and supply chain practices across every product in the range.

"We are thrilled to be recognised as Australia's first Certified Sustainable distillery. This certification is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication to sustainability. We believe in making a positive impact on our planet and our community." — Rory Gration, Co-Founder, Antipodes Gin Co

Since launch in 2015, Antipodes has been at the forefront of sustainability in Australian spirits employing energy-efficient distillation, recyclable packaging, organic supplier partnerships and planting more than 11,800 trees through the Plant-A-Tree Program.

Plant-A-Tree Program

Every bottle
plants a future.

The Plant-A-Tree Program launched the same year as Antipodes itself 2015. It was never an afterthought. It was part of the founding philosophy: that a spirits company could leave the land in better shape than it found it.

The program supports reforestation projects across Australia, with a focus on native species suited to local climates contributing to biodiversity, carbon sequestration and the long-term health of Australian ecosystems.

11,800
+ Trees Planted
Across Australia since 2015

The count grows with every case sold. Every Antipodes product you purchase contributes directly to this program.

2015
Program Established
Plant-A-Tree launched alongside the original gin the first Australian spirits company to make this a founding commitment, not a retrofit.
2018
Carbon Neutral Supported Status
As the range expanded, so did the carbon offset program. Each new product line brought additional planting commitments.
2023
10,000+ Trees Milestone
A significant marker in the program's history and a number that continues to grow with every season.
2025
11,800+ Trees and Counting
Native species, Australian soil, a measurable contribution to the land Antipodes calls home.
How We Source

Organic from the ground up.

Certified organic means more than the spirit in the bottle. It covers every ingredient, every supplier and every process guided by three core sourcing principles.

01
No GMOs, No Pesticides
Every botanical and ingredient is certified free from genetically modified organisms and synthetic pesticides. The organic certification requires this at the farm level, not just at the distillery door.
Verified annually by Australian Certified Organic auditors.
02
Like-Minded Suppliers Only
Antipodes works exclusively with suppliers who share the same values including wine partnerships with Lark Hill Winery and Tamburlaine Wines, both committed to organic and sustainable farming.
Supply chain ethics audited as part of the Certified Sustainable program.
03
Native Botanicals First
By using native Australian botanicals Kakadu Plum, lemon myrtle, strawberry gum, aniseed myrtle and Tasmanian pepperberry. Antipodes promotes plant species designed to thrive in Australia's climate without artificial intervention.
Supporting Australian native botanical growers since 2015.
Zero Waste

Spent bottles become
something beautiful.

When an Antipodes bottle has done its job, it doesn't go to landfill. Spent bottles are upcycled into hand-poured botanical candles each one fragrance-inspired by the spirit that lived in it before.

It's a small act in the context of a big challenge, but it reflects the same thinking that underpins everything Antipodes does: find the smarter way, every time.
